melanietk, the aim of this forum is to allow people like your good self to discuss issues relating to the business in an open and honest way (and we like how this is happening to date!). We don't really want to clog it up with advertising paraphernalia. Rgds.

I would assume that you would get bombarded with thousands of info kits from venues and services and entertainers if you put a work request

and you would be getting many many phone calls

there is a wedding directory that when a user signs up they tick boxes of things that interest them- little do they know (they have it in fine print) that when you tick box- everyone in that category gets your details as a lead.

so the poor person that has signed up gets bombarded with phone calls and things in the post for the next 3 months.

does this sound like fun to you?

What would be the guidelines surrounding the request for bids/proposals for event suppliers, designers, organisers, venues, etc, as part of a larger campaign to find such services? Even if it is a simple request for tender, and then taken up privately from there; sort of a 'jobs' or 'business' section, but a 'work required' policy rather than 'work wanted' to avoid advertising issues?

I can understand if such a request would be borderline inappropriate and am happy to comply with any judgement made by the moderators - I just thought I'd ask
