To make a descision you need accurate info right?
so if people are using misleading info on their site, how are you going to know if it fits your audience, and what happens when you book their services and then it doesn't go with the audience?
This is one of my points.
you know I don't know why I bother- people don't care and it is really frustrating to be in an industry that simply doesn't care enough to even post on a forum
Instead of hiding my contact details I think I'll take a break from this forum, I do have a heck of alot of work on at the moment for my different markets and this just frustrates me dealing with people that don't care about anything else other than their own small world
Thanks Sydney girl- that comment was not directed at you, but more so the people that read but don't post (and PCO)

will do, I am sending an email just after this post.
I Sonya weren't you apart of Sydney On Sale? your name rings a bell.
As for posting questions over and over and over again
I would rather ask the same question over and over then make the same mistake over and over. and this is one of the problems with the industry is no one asks questions and they keep making the same mistake over and over again, which is why for 1 example that at the Expo AIMe had sheds grafitti and break dancers at their welcome party. this is a mistake- you should have asked questions, namely to your interantional consumers, because lets be frank Aussies don't care if their are crocodile dundee events, but the welcome event was for the interantionals and if we live in Australia and organising events for Australians chances are unless it's in the NT or the daintree or wherever the crocs are where the crocs live we probably don't care about that type of theme.
were the breakdances in crocodile leather vests? no of course not, ask your questions and do it over and over until you get an answer that's my motto (or one of them)
You never get anything unless you ask for it. I do find it strange that someone in the creative field of the events industry has a go at someone who asks questions, but then again PCO you never really post to help people, mearly to put other people down and that is where we differ, I'll put you down if you deserve it and I'll back it up with evidence of why you deserve it as I have done in the past, now back to the question
I understand where Sydneygirl is coming from and yes if the solution to your needs happens to be in another state, and you have to fork out additional money for accom and airfaires so be it.
One of the things I readon this forum is PCO Billing Practices found here http://www.micespace.net.au/topic28-pco-billing-practices.aspx Caroline says" Their should be some transperencies for their billing" and steph agrees, and so does NZ events, honesty in quoting, and then there is the benchmarking paragraph by Brad foster,
So for event organisers you do care what the break down of fees is, but for entertainers you don't care am I reading this right, perhaps this is how your customers are percieving you, they don't care about your billing practices as long as it does the job, even tho they may be paying more for it.
come on PCO give me one of your zingers edited by Darth Venue on 22/03/2010

Thank you sydney girl
I have no intention of being dishonest and I will not be dishonest in dealing with people
to the point where I do post my honest feelings on this site and as a result I have alienated some people which cannot be avoided, but at least I am honest. and is a clear proof that I deal honestly- I don't suck up to say the right things so you like me and book me- I don't work that way- I get booked on the quality of my product, not because I suck up.
PCO Thank you for chipping in once again- you always chip in when I talk about misleading advertising- funny that
I really don't care if none of you book my services, that is not the point of this forum for me, I only have a grudge against 1 magician and 1 magician only who uses false advertising and misleading advertising which is effecting my own business and those other magicians that are in Sydney I am more than happy to post all his web sites on this forum so you can descide for yourself if I am being bitchy or I am in fact have a right to have a winge. - I am not syaing he is a bad performed- only he is using misleading advertising
When I get my enquiries- Event Organisers are asking me- DO I LIVE IN SYDNEY of course I answer yes, so I post that same question here. The event organisers who contact me do not enjoy beling mislead so I post it here
Please understand that I do post on this forum- questions that I am myself being asked by people like you (Well.... not like you PCO)
PCO I know you don't care if people use false advertising, I just want to know if real organisers want to know
I'll post all his links and see if you think it is misleading if you want edited by Darth Venue on 22/03/2010 edited by Darth Venue on 22/03/2010

I think honesty is the key here. Doesnt matter where you live as long as you tell the event planner what your requirements are. I also think that the entertainment must suit the audience and if it meant that I'd have to pay airfares/accommodation etc I'd do it!
No point in lying as this is a 'small town'. We all talk to each other...
Stay honest Darth Venue...its in your best interest...I find the ones who dont...dont hang around too long.

Isn't the fact that nobody is responding to your tiresome repetitive posts starting to tell you something?
We are all aware that you are a Magician and you live in Sydney we are all aware that you are trying to peddle your own business to us we are all aware you have some longstanding grudge against others who you percieve as your competition and who you think are taking your rightful $ away from you.
This is just a guess, a wild stab in the dark, but you say you like honesty. I think that every time you post on this site you actually lessen the chances that someone here will book you rather than increasing the chances.

anyone?
OK I'll put it another way
I live in Sydney- I am a magician.
would you think it be ethical if I was to create a website called westernAustraliaMagician.com.au and on that site not inform you that I actually live in Sydney and when it comes to booking me I add Accom and airfaires without you knowing it.
or do you put it under buyer beware

It has come to my attention that there are services and entertainers out there who are claiming to live in Sydney, when they do not
what does the industry think about when it comes to hiring say for example
an entertainer who makes out that they live in Sydney but in actual fact lives on the gold coast?
Is this ethical, moral or you don't care.
would you hire someone who claims to live in Sydney, when they actually live on the Gold Coast?
One of the problems is you'll be paying for airfaires and accom which they include in the price but do not tell you about it. plus do you want to deal with someone who lies about their location, and possibly other things on their site?
This is very very important, because it is happening right now,and it is effecting many entertainers and services PLEASE RESPOND WITH YOUR ANSWERS edited by Darth Venue on 18/03/2010
